Planning data
Refuelling Heights and Speeds. Tanker operations are cleared for altitudes from sea level up to 28,000 ft. Optimum altitude band for refuelling is 5,000 ft to 20,000 ft. The speed range is from 230 to 320 KIAS/0.75 Mach with an optimum speed of 270 KIAS.
Maximum Transferable Fuel. 5,500 kg (12,000 lb) under optimum conditions, but not more than 3,400 kg (7,500 lb) per contact.
Fuel Transfer Rate. Transfer rate is 300 kg/min (650 lbs/min) to 600 kg/min (1,300 lbs/min), depending on receiver aircraft.
Regulated Fuel Pressure. Fuel pressure at the drogue is regulated to 50 ± 5 psi.
